Payments and Practices

Posted by Upper Chesapeake Volleyball Club at Nov 30, 2020 3:38PM PST

At last, it seems that our website is returning to normal! We apologize for the inconveniences, but are glad that we are now back online.

On the top banner, we have payment schedule options for each athlete to enroll in. Up to 3 installments have been programmed, assuming cash or check (cc incurs transaction fee). Additionally, in the documents folder, the 2020-21 Player Agreement should be submitted to the coaches at the next practice. Should alternative arrangements be necessary, please contact the UCVC Director.

Additionally, we are updating the calendar with practice dates and will continue over the next several days to update with tournament information.

After a few very painful weeks of our webservices being down, we are being restored in a few stages. So, with that exciting news, we are more excited to congratulate those athletes who will be joining us this season for club volleyball.

Throughout the week, UCVC sent several emails out to provide the offers for acceptance, instructions on how to navigate the SportsEngine system to establish an athlete account, and a request for uniform preferences. We still have a few that are outstanding, so please expedite those responses.

If you have not received an email from UCVC, please send an email to the UCVC Director so that we can onboard everyone in time for practices to begin.

As of 7:30pm 13 March 2020, ALL activities are suspended through the rest of the month (all practices, matches, tournaments, etc.). This is a decision that affects the entire nation with regards to the sport, as USAV National has mandated all venues be closed through until re-evaluation.

UCVC will continue to push updated information as it becomes available, to include details of our (hopefully quick) return to regular schedules. Present plans to redress include petitioning for additional tournaments, hosting, and expanding practice opportunities.

Again, there will be no UCVC activities through the remainder of March.

Stay safe, practice good hygiene and prudence, and we look forward to everyone’s healthy return.

Covid 19 (UPDATE)

Posted by Upper Chesapeake Volleyball Club at Mar 9, 2020 7:10PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

USAV has advised venues nationwide to consider suspending or cancelling events over the next couple of weeks. At this time, any such action remains at the discretion of the hosting club, but given the potential to affect some of our tournament considerations, we will be watching this development daily. Several big tournaments outside of our region have been cancelled – example: some national qualifiers – so please be patient as the federation, and indeed our society, negotiates this troubled time.

From the Commissioner of CHRVA:

“We are aware that there have been a few cases diagnosed with the Covid 19 in our Region. Both USA Volleyball and our Chesapeake Region personnel continue to monitor the situation.

“In the best interest of safety we will adopt the following procedure for the remainder of the indoor volleyball season for our Chesapeake Region tournaments. Our athletes and referees will no longer shake hands at the beginning and end of each match. Here will be our modified match protocol:

“1. 1st Referee goes to the stand.
“2. Upon the signal from the 1st Referee, the starting 6 players will go to the end line.
“3. 1st Referee will beckon for the players to immediately go to their starting rotation position.
“4. 2nd Referee will check the line-ups.
“5. At the end of the match, the 1st Referee will release the players to their benches.

“Thank you for your support, Lisa D. ~ CHRVA Commissioner.”
